The 2013/2014 school year will be my eleventh year as a sixth grade teacher in Becker. I have worked with kids my whole life, and enjoy sixth grade the most. I love how eager-to-learn the 11 and 12 year old kids are. I also enjoy their honesty and humor. I look forward to meeting my class and getting started on our year together.
I graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1990 with a degree in Elementary Education along with a coaching degree. In 2009 I received my Masters of Education from St. Mary's University. I am always eager to learn so I can put new ideas to use with my new class.
My wife, Deb, and I have been married for 23 years. We have three children; Kaitlyn, Matt, and Jackie. Kaitlyn is a junior at Augustana college this year. She runs cross country and track there. Matt is in the tenth grade and loves sports. He enjoys playing and watching football, basketball, and baseball. Jackie is our little girl. She just transformed from our girly girl who liked dance, dolls, and make up, to our sports girl who likes soccer, basketball, and long baggy shorts. She will be in the fifth grade this year with Mr. Tweeten.
Deb and I enjoy watching our kids sporting events, that is if I'm not coaching them. As a family we like to relax at the cabin on Red Lake and just enjoy our time together.
Mission Statement
My students will learn in an enjoyable safe setting, where respect, responsibility, and relationships are used to foster learning for every student.
